Marijuana connoisseurs everywhere have known for ages that mixing weed with the other substances we consume regularly can make for some pretty good times. My personal favorite is coffee and marijuana, for a relaxed, yet productive morning.
For those of you who prefer a bit of alcohol with your marijuana, there’s good news on the horizon: weed-infused wine is a thing now.
As the United States moves closer to full-scale legalization of marijuana, we will undoubtedly start to see more and more innovative, marijuana-infused products, but for now, weed-infused wine is the latest and greatest if you’re looking to knock out two birds with one stone.
Known as ‘Canna Vine,’ this weed-infused wine is produced by winemakers based out of California, where marijuana is currently only legal through medical marijuana prescriptions. However, that’s not keeping folks from trying to get their hands on this rare elixir. Celebrities like Chelsea Handler and Melissa Etheridge reportedly drink Canna Vine regularly, with Etheridge saying that the high you get from the wine puts you in a “really beautiful place.”
Before you start out on some epic quest to obtain this magical drink, there are a few details to be aware of. First, Canna Vine is currently only produced in the state of California, as the other 420-friendly states (Colorado, Washington, Oregon) have not yet legalized alcohol to be infused with marijuana.
Second, on top of it only being sold in California, it’s also not a recreational marijuana product. Because it’s strictly medical at this point in time, you still need a medical marijuana card to buy the wine.
Lastly, Canna Vine is one of the more expensive bottles of wine you can buy right now, so you’re going to need some green before you can get your hands on this green. Depending on the bottle you purchase, you’re looking at spending anywhere from $120 to $400, and that’s for half a bottle.
So, while this amazing product might not be seen on your grocery store shelves anytime soon, those of you who can check off each of the requirements above have a lot to be excited about! Maybe you can try some and get back to us on just how great it really is.
