While humans may often get a bad rap for all of the crappy things we do to the environment, we’re pretty amazing creatures the rest of the time. When we really put our minds to it, we can solve almost any problem and achieve even the most daunting of feats.
Her most recent project, called “Quartz,” is a stunning little tiny home that rests in a remote part of Alaska. One quick look inside of White’s tiny home reveals an elegantly beautiful and simple solution to building a shelter one can call ‘home.’ And White knows first-hand that you don’t need to be a carpenter to build a home like hers. You simply need some directions and a bit of guidance.
Which is why she’s now offering up the plans and blueprints for her tiny home 100% free of charge. You can take a quick tour through the home in the video below.
Ana got into the DIY scene just a few years ago after having to help her husband build their house. Her interest in building, that was borne from “simple necessity,” kept growing, eventually seeing her start to build pieces of furniture, as well as starting a blog to document her experiences and efforts.
Over the years, her blog has garnered quite the following. It has over a thousand DIY projects listed for free and Ana has used it to support her family, help her write a book, and even secure a pilot episode for a television show. But, Ana says that she will keep all of her plans free for one reason:
I needed to be able to provide plans for free so women could look at it and it would create confidence in them that ‘I can build this’. I knew that for me, as a mom with a single income, a really limited income, at home all day, it needed to be free because I myself couldn’t have afforded to pay $10 a plan.
So, if you’ve been thinking about building a tiny home and aren’t quite sure where to start, Ana’s blog might just be your best resource! You can pick up plans for the home itself, as well as furniture, for free here!
