If you didn’t know, elephants are some of the most socially conscious beings on the planet today. Not only have they shown strong emotional intelligence, but they’ve been seen to go great lengths for loved ones.
Their size often has them intimidating creatures smaller than them, but this wasn’t the case for Tarra the elephant and Bella the dog. Tarra resides in a wildlife sanctuary with her herd, but she befriended Bella almost as soon as Bella showed up.
These two companions seemed inseparable, sleeping, eating, drinking and playing together all the time. Their friendship is one that has seen the test of time, as they’ve remained best friends for over a decade.
But, one day Bella injured her back. The sanctuary keepers decided it was best for Bella to remain in the office during her recovery so they could tend to her easier.
Tarra, being the distraught best friend that she is, stayed right outside of the office for three whole weeks while Bella recovered, hoping that she would one day see her friend again.
You can catch a glimpse of their extraordinary friendship in the video below!
What do you think about Tarra and Bella’s friendship? Isn’t it great how aware Tarra is of her size around Bella? Be sure to share with friends and loved ones who would love to see Bella and Tarra together!
