If you’ve ever watched the show ‘Shark Tank’, you know that the wealthy investors that host the show can be anything but kind when deciding whether or not to invest in the business proposals that come their way.
Even the nicest, most well-intentioned folks will get their heads ripped off and their ideas thrown in the trash by the sharks that are looking to turn a profit. While some folks break down and cry, others stick to their guns and stay true to their goals.
Like Johnny Georges, the farmer who, along with his dad in 1984, came up with a brilliantly simple idea that helps save a ton of water for farmers and those trying to grow crops.
While the sharks seem very interested and impressed with the innovative product Johnny has placed before them, they’re not too impressed with his business savvy--or more adequately put, his willingness to hike up the prices on his invention.
But as we can see, Johnny hasn’t even entertained the idea of raising prices because in his heart he knows that most farmers would likely not be able to afford the product if he were to increase his own profit margins.
And he tells the shark investors just that.
His humble response moves the entire room, and luckily for Johnny, the heart of Paul Mitchell co-founder, John Paul DeJoria, who decides that Johnny needs the right business partner in his new endeavor.
We couldn’t be happier for Johnny, as he reminds everyone watching that staying true to yourself and chasing after your dreams is something that does get rewarded if your heart is in the right place.
