Saddest tweets to tweet. Mommy is gone. I love you @carrieffisher— Gary the Dog (@Gary_TheDog) December 27, 2016
If you’re a fan of Carrie Fisher, or as she’s better known around the world, Princess Leia, you know that she had an adorable French Bulldog named Gary that she took with her just about everywhere.
She would take Gary to book signings, movie premiers, events on the red carpet, and even television talk shows. After her unfortunate passing, Gary’s future was a little uncertain. But, TMZ reports that Gary has found the perfect new home living alongside Carrie Fisher’s daughter’s bulldog, Tina.
Billie Lourd, Fisher’s daughter, says that she will now be taking care of Gary. Lourd was on the airplane flying from London to L.A. with Carrie when she suffered the massive heart attack that lead to her passing a short while after.
Gary even paid visits to Carrie when she was being cared for at the UCLA Medical Center where she finally passed on December 27th.
Gary should transition into his new home quite well, as TMZ reports that he is already “best friends” with Tina, Lourd’s bulldog.
You might have seen Gary before, as he has his own Instagram account with over 87,000 followers! Gary was originally adopted from “a very tragic pet store” in New York as a therapy dog to aid in Fisher’s bipolar disorder, she [told NPR](http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/12/27/507130492/listen-carrie-fisher-terry-gross-and-gary-the-dog). "So he looks like he was from like a puppy mill. He's not — everything is sort of wrong with him," she said. "Gary is like my heart. Gary is very devoted to me and that calms me down," Fisher told the [Herald-Tribune](http://health.heraldtribune.com/2013/04/20/14065/) in 2013. "He's anxious when he's away from me."
