Artificial intelligence seems to be one of the next big steps for mankind, one that has many people concerned about the automation of jobs and vehicles. But, one area that not many people have likely thought about is the realm of creativity. Artificial intelligences producing creative works, like songs for example.
The Sony CSL Research Laboratory is looking to start that conversation and has already listened to what a song created by artificial intelligence might sound like--and it’s strikingly similar to something The Beatles might have produced during their prominence.
It cannot be said that every little detail of the song was created by an AI, as French composer Benoît Carré worked on the harmonies and lyrics, but the rest of the details were all arranged and determined by the artificial intelligence at Sony CSL Research Laboratory.
After everything was finished, all they had to do was select a “Beatles” style of song and Sony’s Flowmachines system took care of the rest.
Give it a listen and tell us what you think!
