Life as a human being can be an incredibly hard thing to navigate successfully. Especially when the world we live in is full of suffering and there are so many unknown answers to questions that we’ve been asking since the dawn of time. And while we have a say in our own destiny and how our lives unfold, a large part of our lives are determined by forces we have zero control over.
It’s a hard path to walk and sometimes life will leave you feeling like a kid who’s lost in the woods.
When you find yourself feeling a bit lost, remember these six quotes and do your best to find your way again.
1. You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward
Getting stuck in a rut is a common feeling for many people, and it’s frustrating. You’re left feeling like your life is beginning to stagnate. You’re stuck and not sure how to get moving again. The best course of action? Move forward in whatever way you can. It doesn’t have to be some thought-out master plan for succeeding in life. It just has to be that next step forward, whatever that looks like.
2. Sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put us directly on the path to the best things that will ever happen to us
Life has a funny way of throwing you down on the ground and crushing your spirit, only to pick you back up and make your spirit feel more alive than ever before. The truth about life is that it’s going to have ups and downs. If you’re currently on the downslope, don’t fret--it’s only happening because better things are on the horizon.
3. Sometimes you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and where you want to be.
Soul-searching is a vital part of figuring out who it is that you are and who it is that you want to become. You will never be happy in life unless you spend the necessary time figuring yourself out, and only you can do it.
4. Sometimes, you have to stop thinking so much and just go where your heart takes you
Thinking too much about things is mentally exhausting and oftentimes does more harm than good. Listen to your gut instincts and intuition, they are guides to help you make the right decisions in life. Rid yourself of negativity, cultivate positivity, and move through life doing the things you want to do.
5. If you don’t like where you are, move. You are not a tree
The best part about having complete freedom is that you don’t have to keep doing the same old thing over and over again if you don’t want to. If the life you’re currently living isn’t one that you’re enjoying, you can change every aspect of it. Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone to seek out happiness and purpose.
6. You can’t start the next chapter if you keep rereading the last
Dwelling on the past does absolutely nothing to help you move forward. You’ve made mistakes and learned your lessons, so move on. Living in the present moment is hard to do, but it makes all the difference when you’re working on building the life that you want for yourself.
