How often do you complain about things that don't go the way you want them to or things that aren't happening, no matter how badly you wish for it to happen? Often, right? Those times when you have hated your partner for cutting you down in the middle of the sentence, or when you missed shopping when there was 50 percent sale in every desired clothes you wanted to own- you end up thinking what a bad time you are going through, because no power in this universe is granting your wish.
However, what you don't notice is the fact that while you are disappointed because you couldn't by that dress of yours, you are missing out on valuing things that are already there in your life. How often do you tell yourself that you are grateful to have your closet full of clothes? It's hard to be grateful in this world, where there are so many things you find better than you already have. It then puts you in that position of life, where you run after better things than embracing your life with the little or more of everything.
Being grateful and saying 'thank you' has a surreal power that can take you from a low point to a high point in the journey of life. This lets you become more aware and curious about raising your vibration so that you can have a better life. So, to raise your vibration, you need to practice the art of gratitude, as it holds the massive vibration of the universe. The moment you are thankful for what you have presently, or where ever you are in your life now, you will feel unexplained happiness and contentment.
You are in the habit of working towards things that will make your life better. Therefore, your intentions and your thought process always focus on what you lack, and what you don't have, making you feel ungrateful and invariably lowering your vibration. Everyday humans are finding ways to change their life making them complain about everything they don't have or lack. For an example, you might not be happy with the job you have right now, because it pays you less or is not sufficient enough to fulfill your desires. You spend days and months worrying and cribbing and whining about not having a 'perfect job'.
However, if you take a moment to look at what you have- the job which is helping you to pay the bills, giving you a roof to live in and helping you eat the best of the food, it might actually make you realize that it is all worth it. You will soon be able to feel grateful for what you have, rather than putting yourself through remorse, regrets, and unacceptance. Your mind will always try to find what you are lacking which constantly keep you in misery and victimhood.
But, with slight mental effort, awareness and patience you can help yourself to choose gratitude every moment in life, to make yourself feel better. The moment you learn to be grateful, by the law of attraction, you start experiencing and witnessing better events and situations. You might think that you have little of everything, but from someone else's eyes, you might be having everything to be grateful for, as many in the world don't have those things.
Now if you are pausing to think about what are the things in your life to be thankful for, then you should be grateful if you have parents, family, friends, lovers, good health, a house to live, a shoulder to cry on, a job that is helping you to go out with friends every weekend, and the list can go on and on. The moment you realize that you are lucky to have what you have now, you will be able to empathize with those who don't even have basic things in life, things that you take for granted all the time.
Being thankful is not a difficult thing to practice, what is hard is to become aware of the things that you have, and to educate yourself about the manipulations and machinations that your mind is capable of doing. Therefore, to practice the art of being grateful, you should be able to choose a day or time, when your mind is unsullied and away from any kinds of manipulation- your wake up or sleeping time. If you put yourself into following the discipline of saying a few words of thanks, and how grateful you are for the things you have in life, you will master the power or gratitude soon.
To attain power, you do not have to believe in God or any religion. You just need to be aware of the things you have, and things that make you feel thankful. It is up to you, what you choose- to be grateful for the things you have worked hard to get, or whine and feel lost for those things that you don't need but want it. It is your duty to make sure your happiness lies in the valuable things, and the day you realize that you have enough, you will walk down the path of happiness.
