Marijuana Tampons Are The Latest Thing And It Might Just Change Your Life

Menstrual cramps are one of the worst things to experience and almost every woman go through the excrutiating pain because of the monthly cycle.

Periods are different for every girl, and sometimes they are absolutely terrible. If you’re one of the unlucky ones who dread that time of the month because of how debilitating your period is, there might be some good news for you on the horizon. And it comes in the form of cannabis tampons. Kind of sounds a bit crazy at first, right? But when the whole point of these cannabis vaginal suppositories is to make cramps completely non-existent, it’s easy to get on board with. Created by Foria, cannabis “tampons” were created specifically to combat the nasty symptoms one can feel when on their period.

Retired gynecologist and California medical marijuana evaluation center director Morton Barke, M.D., says, “We know that cannabis does help the pain. We do see a lot of patients with dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is painful menstrual periods. It’s a fantastic modality to help patients.” What’s cool about Foria’s cannabis products is that they’re all grown in Northern California and feature zero pesticides, which is a definite plus when it comes to things going in our bodies.

If you’re not entirely familiar with how weed works, there two active compounds that provide much of the medicinal benefit: THC and CBD. THC is responsible for pain relief and mental relaxation, while CBD focuses largely on soothing of the muscles and the nerves. Together, they make for a powerful and effective combination.

Foria put their cannabis ‘tampons’ on the market back in January, and so far, people have fallen in love with them. They’ve reported less intense cramping, which was Foria’s goal all along. The only downside is that they’re not exactly cheap. For $44, you get a pack of four suppositories, and before you can even buy them, you have to become a member of Foria.

You’ll also have to figure out a way around your state’s potential laws surrounding marijuana, this will likely require a physician’s recommendation for the product as well as an application to be submitted and approved. As of right now, however, Foria’s new products show great promise and could just be the next best thing when it comes to relieving the awful pain and discomfort associated with periods.
